Fast-growing radiata Pine from New Zealand. Dually modified via acetylation (a bio-liquid that expands cell walls, that gives you that hardwood performance).
Exceptional durability, dimensional stability
Is sustainable, has long lifespan (and good warranty), is versatile (can be machined, stained/painted, or left untreated).
Wears to silver-grey over time if left unfinished
Flat cut material which shows a wide grain structure/cathedrals. This can be limited when a clear product is desired. Associated w/ “clear” with vertical grain structure
The acetylation process (basically, vinegar) locks in carbon, making it a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwoods and chemically-treated timber.
